Youth in Service: Using Web 2.0 Tools to Promote and Support a Cause
PTA Reflections Contest this year was "Make a difference by....". Based on doing 1 good deed a day. 1000 hits the first day may have happened because she tagged it "Christmas, charities, and service". A lot of media attention was given to this endeavor. Many classrooms got involved including classes at Laura's school. Laura has become connected with classrooms including one in Florida. She has skyped with the students in the classroom. When she mentioned on her blog that she did not have a webcam, skype sent her one for free. Within her school she has been doing building wide charity work. To protect Laura, all connections to folks were via digital. When things were being sent, Angela had things sent to work. Pictures on the site are sometimes changed to cartoons using Kodak EasyShare software. Editing her work has been a learning experience for Laura and Angela.

There has been so much positive feedback from schools, charities, and kids. It is awe inspiring how one person can change the world. You can follow her:
